Venue: Shedfield Petanque Club (Southern)
1. 24m x 12 m E-W. Tree-lined on north side. Fine limestone surface, fairly fast, but with slightly bouncy base; ball to ball shooting is OK, but slightly short will go over the top!
There is a pavilion/changing room building nearby that can be made available for toilets and catering if necessary.
2. 24m x 12m. N-S Tree-lined on west side. Built on considerable southerly slope, with additional slope to west side of shorter length. Fine limestone grit surface. Top end very fast, bottom end slower. Is variously described as ' interesting', 'challenging',' the pointer's nightmare'. Bad league match visiting players say that it gives us an unfair home advantage; this is not true - we find it difficult as well! We have new metal halide floodlighting.
3. 24m x 12m E-W Tree lined on south and west sides. Generally flat surface with small dips and slight slope on shorter length. Medium grade limestone surface with some larger stones for the unwary.
These two terrains are in the garden behind Samuel's Rest pub. The pub has toilets and provides food by arrangement/pre order. There is a small club building overlooking terrain 2, but it has no lighting or power.
